watched the first episode of dndrag queens s2 last night and
1) i don’t care if it’s too soon i will be drawing princess x aasiya art immediately
2) in true alaska fashion, she seems so much more comfortable now that it’s her second time around and she knows what she’s doing. the air of confidence she has already makes me so so excited, i can tell she’s really prepared to get her hands dirty this season. she’s such a good storyteller (check out drag the musical if you haven’t already) and a real competitive bitch so i’m looking forward to that SO much
3) anti-capitalism gertrude means the world to me

Mustard was definitely talking about a kraken right? Because it shares enough consonants with chicken and Hughie has some kind of dealings with Queen Inira

Hey y'all sorry to get serious on here, but this is perhaps my closest friend in the whole world, we've known each other for nearly a decade, and this has truly upended his life. Its horrible to see and the kind of thing that you wouldn't wish on anyone.
I understand if you don't have the funds to spare, but if you want to help out a trans guy and his mom afford a real funeral for his father, please share this post around, reblog it with any popular tags on your account, or just share the gofundme link itself wherever you can. Thank you all so much and I hope you have a wonderful day.
Hey everyone!!
There's a lot of desperate people around, and I'm only here on a long shot, but if you’re compelled to help at all it would be so very appreciated.
Recently, my dad got really sick and was rushed to the hospital. After months of back and forth, he's finally been diagnosed with inoperable cancer in multiple places and given a few months with chemo. It's looking bad, and on top of that he's got no life insurance, so when he dies we have no money to pay for anything.
If you have anything extra right now and want to help out I would be very grateful.
Thank you very much.

Let's Talk About: The Battle for Darktide
Tumblr media
Not gonna lie, I feel like the first season had more closure and a better tie-up… But that's not to say I didn't love (or tear up) with the finale of Dungeons and Drag Queens Season 2.
Jujubee is still the mistress of tears, Alaska the queen of efficiency, Bob the master weaver of stories, and Monet… is the collector of accents. But, for real, I love these queens and I loved this season. And although I know that the reason why this two seasons have been short is because the players are busy with their careers, I still wish we had longer time to spend with them. So we could see them grow more.
And so that Brennan doesn't feel the pressure of having to create high-impact stories that need to hit every emotional beats with such a short run time. Brennan delivers, sure, but at the end of the season… you kinda do feel a little spent, you know? And there's even less time to process things because the finale is already 3 hours long…and that's coming after a three-hour penultimate episode.
But going back to this specific episode: I loved that, while grand in scale, the finale didn't try to top the Mophandrix battle set. In the same vein as Burrow's End giving us the horrifying bear map up top, showing us and the players a crazy new battlefield with puzzles that they may or may not elect to solve, Season 2 of Dungeons and Drag Queens also gave us a jaw-dropping map mid-season so it could focus the final battle on the characters and their end goals.
Did what I write make sense? Let me try that again:
I loved that the creative (and production) team of Dimension 20 knew that to put focus on the players and their characters' stories, they didn't steal the spotlight with a bigger and badder battle field. It's the little things like this that make one appreciate the Dimension 20 team more: because they're not just comedians and entertainers--everyone one of them is a storyteller. Down to the make-up artists. Like, the glow-in-the-dark make-up on Brennan may not have been as time-consuming as a Kraken with movable limbs, but with the slow dimming of the lights and the (probably) post-production background music? The make-up made a statement, baby.
I know this post will probably not reach the hands of the Dimension 20 team, but I hope they know just how much they are appreciated. And it's episodes like this that really showcases how much work they put into the show.
